🚨ICYMI🇬🇭🌊🏛️: President John Mahama has announced plans for a new administrative city outside Accra following what officials describe as the capital’s worst flooding event in history. After an aerial inspection of flood-hit areas, Mahama said Ghana must radically rethink its urban planning as rainfall intensity continues to increase year after year. Among the immediate measures announced: • Finance Ministry to release contingency funds for flood relief through NADMO. • District assemblies directed to identify and demolish structures obstructing major drainage channels. • A long-term plan to relocate key government institutions to a newly developed administrative city to ease pressure on Accra. The President also called for a national change in attitude toward waste disposal, warning that choked drains continue to worsen the flooding crisis. 🦅🇬🇭
